My Workaholic Fingers Online

Currently I have tons of work to do online. I have tons of priority work online and because of that my fingers are complaining. Two weeks ago I mentioned in my post about my fingers are super stressed and needs a rest that I also posted there the photo of the dry chapped skin of my fingers.

I love to work, enjoy doing multitasking and super like my online work. Personally I am not complaining with the tons of work online because I consider it blessing but I can’t hide myself that my fingers are the one’s stressed.

I am just waiting for another blessing to come and that is to have a very nice helpful house helper. I still don’t have a House helper so I multitask at home working online, doing household chores and taking care of my little boy and his daddy.

Softening lotion for my skin

I really need a moisturizing lotion, rich and non-greasy for my hand and body. I have been searching online for the best lotion to pamper myself especially for my dry chapped skin on my fingertips area. There are many products online but not all beauty products are healthy.  Good thing I have found a better website where you can find health and beauty products.

Since I was searching for a moisturizing rich lotion, I have found a Softening Body Lotion at http://www.naturesbest.co.uk/. The products that they offer here are very interesting because I love products with natural ingredients. I am choosy when it comes to using a beauty product and what I like about the Softening body lotion is that it is long lasting and has non-greasy formulation. Most of the moisturizing rich lotion that I have used was not easily absorb by the skin because you have to rub and massage it for a longer period of time but this lotion says that it is a rich easily absorbed body lotion. Aside from that, the natural ingredients are so great. Imagine the natural ingredients are cocoa butter, green tea extract, sunflower seed oil, shea butter, olive oil, linseed oil, patented flax seed extract, grape seed oil, aloe vera, natural vitamin E. It is almost complete to keep a healthy beautiful skin. I believe that it will moisturize my dry chapped skin on my fingers when I use this product.

When I got pregnant and gave birth two years ago, stretch marks appeared on some parts of my skin. I have read that lotion rich in shea butter and vitamin E help in reducing the appearance of stretchmarks so I would go for this product. Also, when you are aging especially for women, we should take more vitamin E to keep our skin and body healthy still looking beautiful.

Dengue Fever Symptoms and A Best Help Treatment

I created this post to share what I have learned and observed when dengue fever strikes my cousin. I also shared a post entitled A Visit at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila where I tackled my experience about my visit at that hospital.

What is Dengue?

Dengue is considered one of the dangerous tropical disease caused by the dengue virus. It is also know as breakbone fever wherein the disease may progresses to life-threatening complications.

What causes Dengue Fever?

Dengue is usually transmitted by the mosquito Aedes aegypti, and rarely Aedes albopictus. The virus exists in four different types, and an infection with one type usually gives lifelong immunity to that type, but only short-term immunity to the others. There is currently no available vaccine, but measures to reduce the habitat and the number of mosquitoes, and limiting exposure to bites, are used to decrease the incidence of dengue.

Dengue Fever Symptoms

  • Sudden and abrupt onset.
  • Temperature may go up to 39, 39.5 as high as 40 degree Celsius.
  • Fever lasts for a couple of days 1-7 days then fades away 1-2 days.
  • Chills, headache, severe muscle and joint pains.
  • Lastly, you will noticed red and white patchy rashes on the skin.
  • Other signs of dengue fever include bleeding gums, severe pain behind the eyes, and red palms and soles.

Dengue Severe Form of Illness/ Complications

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (which may lead to severe hemorrhage) and Dengue shock syndrome (where a very low blood pressure can cause organ dysfunction).

What to do when you experience the symptoms of Dengue Fever?

Consult your doctor and request for a referral for a CBC (Complete Blood Count) with APC test then go to the nearest Medical Laboratory for that test. Take the laboratory result to your doctor to read, interpret the results and they will recommend the best things on what to do next.

Normal Platelet Count

Adult – about 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood.

Children – consult your pediatrician.

A Best Help Natural Treatment for a Dengue Patient

  • Camote Tops Juice (Talbos ng Kamote Juice) with Orange and Calamansi – When my cousin was confined at the hospital because of the dengue fever, on the third dayI prepare 2 Liters of Camote Tops juice with Orange and Calamansi squeeze. Her platelet count on the second day is 51,000 then after drinking the Camote tops juice on the third day, her platelet count became 103,000. With continued Camote Tops Juice drinking, her platelet count became normal on the fourth day then on the fifth day, she was happily released from the hospital. Aside from the Camote Tops Juice, I also advice my cousin to eat watermelon during those times when she was confined.
  • Above all, the greatest treatment to any kind of sickness is a deep faith and prayers.

How to prevent Dengue/ Mosquito diseases?

  • We can prevent Dengue/ mosquito diseases by keeping our place clean and keeping away things or places where dengue mosquitoes breed. Dengue Mosquitoes breed in stored, exposed water collection systems like drums, barrels, pots, tank, discarded bottles and tires, and other places where water is stored.
  • Using a floor wax also possibly drives away mosquitoes and other insects.
  • Always replace water from the flower vase.
  • Keep  dirty clothes/ things away from where you mostly stay or sleep.
  • Use mosquito repellent lotion.
  • Keep your body healthy by eating healthy nutritious foods.

A visit at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila

Yesterday I went to San Lazaro Hospital at Quiricada, Sta. Cruz Manila to visit my teenage cousin who was confined there because of dengue. We bring my teenage cousin there last Sunday night after we knew the laboratory results for her CBC with APC which drops largely below the normal range. We also decided to bring her at that hospital because of some suggestions of their good service.

San Lazaro Hospital
Hallway at San Lazaro Hospital in manila

San Lazaro Hospital is a government hospital with clinical services for Infectious/ Communicable Diseases like Meninggitis, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, Measles, Pneumonia, etc. When we arrived there last Sunday and my cousin was admitted, I have noticed that they observed order and cleanliness. Although most of the people working there are so strict from the security guard up to the doctors and some are even snobbish, the hospital is a nice place because it is clean, in good order and I think that the patient will be handled in good care.

San Lazaro Hospital Hallway at the 3rd floor

My cousin was confined at the third floor and I tried to take some photos while I walk in their hallway. The place is not so big but there are only few patients and few people there. I used their elevator to reach the third floor. It was scary to use the elevator because the elevator sounds so creepy and I was the only one who ride. I also saw some rust at the side and I am just thinking that the elevator might need some maintenance because of the creepy sounds when it opens and closes although it is not that too old.

san lazaro hospital ward room
Inside the San Lazaro Ward Room

I finally reached the ward room of my cousin and I must say that its not bad. Her bed number is so easy to distinguish and the room has enough space. The ward room is clean. Although there is no electric fan inside the room and television sets, you may feel comfortable because it is not noisy and polluted. The room has big windows allowing natural air to pass through and you can also see some trees outside the window. According to my cousin, you can also bring your own electric fan if you want. Since it is a government hospital for public service I believe that they have a good service with its order and cleanliness. The visiting hours at San Lazaro hospital is from 4:00 PM up to 7:00Pm only and they are really strict so visitors should follow. Before I go home at around 6:00 Pm we felt the earthquake shakes that moves some of the things inside the room like the beds and chairs. My cousin who is a patient there almost wanted to rise from the bed and I can see her nervous face and also her mom. I keep the situation calm as I tell them some beautiful stories and in my mind I pray to God.

I hope and pray that my cousin will be better and recover immediately. Today, I made her Camote Tops juice for her fast recovery that could be an alternative cures for this kind of illness. I tried to research on how to help a dengue patient to treat a low platelet count and I just believe that the Camote Tops Juice that I make with orange and Calamansi will improved her health condition.

My fingers are super stressed and needs a rest or cure

Stressed Fingers

Stressed Fingers

I have been experiencing a dry chapped skin on my fingertips at the right hand since I have tons of work and load. Personally, I am not stressed with my regular online work because I love my work but my fingers are so stressed. I am a work-at-home mom and I am also hands-on in taking care of my little boy and in some household chores.

My regular routines on weekdays are considered super days. I should follow my time management or else I will be experiencing so hard to adjust. I usually multi-task like working online and at the same time cooking or looking after my little boy but when I work online I focus. You can’t talk to me while I work online and there are no other extra activities on my computer while I work. I am strict and dedicated so I can deliver quality work results. But, when my little boy wants hugs and kisses from me while I work, I stopped for a moment to approach him. At the age of two, he understood when I am busy with work and he knows how to behave.

Currently, I am looking for ways to reduce the stressed or the dry chappy surface of my fingers. My stressed fingers will be normal if I don’t wash dishes but we have no maid at home so I still wash some especially the things of my little boy. I have read some products that may help like Emu oil and Rose hip. I will definitely try these products and I will share it here for the review.

How about you? Have you experience to use Emu oil and Rose Hip?

Update: I found the solution to this problem of mine with Indulgence Body Butter.

My Red HTC Wildfire Smartphone

After almost five years, I finally bought a new cellphone/smartphone. Although I also have an extra Samsung cellphone given by my husband, when it comes to durability I still prefer my old cellphone Sony Ericsson. I have been using Sony Ericsson K610i since 2006 and it never let me down until now. My Sony Ericsson K610i is the smallest 3G phone in the year 2006. Although my old cellphone is still 100% functional, I decided to buy a new one because I need a cellphone with extra features that would be a great help for a super work-at-home mom like me. Smartphone technologies are really in demand in the new generation.

The features that I am looking for in considering  smartphone are the connectivity features like wifi internet ready, Bluetooth, 3G, Mail features that I can sync my email from personal computer, updates stream for news and many other important features.

Last January, I posted here about my durable Sony Ericsson Cellphone and last year I also shared that I am planning to buy a new Sony Ericsson Aspen Mobile Phone.  Things have change so I choose to buy the HTC wildfire smartphone.

The color of my HTC wildfire smartphone is red same with the color of my old phone. In the photo below you will see my new HTC Wildfire Smartphone and the old Sony Ericsson K610i.

The photo below is my New HTC Wildfire Smartphone. When we visited HTC branch in SM North Edsa Cyberzone at The Annex, there is a promo price for this phone which cost Php 12, 000 plus for cash price and it would cost almost Php 15, 000 if you are going to use a credit card to purchase the phone.

HTC Wildfire Smartpho

I am still trying to explore the great features of the HTC Wildfire Smartphone and I will share the phone review possibly after a week of usage of this phone.
