Facebook New Photo Viewer review

Yesterday when I tried to browse some photos in Facebook the photos to be shown when you are about to click the photo will be maximized.

My Reviews:

  • This will improve the quality of pictures shown in a larger view especially to those who has a sight problem.
  • This looks like you are seeing photos in an album which is better.
  • The black background color of the photo slide enables the user to focus on the photo being shown.
  • This will help facebook users who has a business using facebook as their online cart to show larger views of their products.

Facebook has lots of improvement and I am also happy for that. Some of the useful features that I use in facebook are facebook groups, events, news feed, networked blogs link to it, birthday reminders and chat features. If you don’t want the new facebook photo viewer then just click on F5 and the settings will be retain back to the old photo view.

  • You will have to provide the website name, URL and the language then Click continue.
  • Choose the gadgets size and color.
  • Create the HTML code by clicking on generate code. You will have to copy the code and paste it in your blog where you want to the gadget to appear. (Usually the google friend connect was place on the sidebar)

Create Your Google Sitemaps Online

Tonight, I just check some updates with my blogs/sites and I have found that I haven’t created a sitemap yet on my two sites.  I figure it out when I tried to run some analytics (pearanalytics.com) in my site then I decided to create a Google Site map.

What is a sitemap? A sitemap is a way of organizing a website, identifying the URLs and the data under each section.

Why do we have to create an XML sitemap? We have to create an XML sitemap so that it can be submitted to Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines to help them crawl your website better.

It was so easy to build a google sitemap for your website done in easy 4 steps, all you have to do is to:

  • go to free online site map generator then you have to enter full http address for your site
  • click on start at the bottom part of the page. It has a maximum of 500 pages that will be indexed in site map once you started.
  • You will be redirected to the generated sitemap details page, including number of pages, broken links list, XML file content and link to a sitemap file. Download the sitemap file using that link and put it into the domain root folder of your site.
  • Lastly, add your site map URL in your Google Webmaster account.

How to open a Unionbank EON Account in the Philippines?

I opened a Unionbank EON Account last year in preparation for my online transactions to buy and sell and I was happy with my experience with my Unionbank EON account.

With my Unionbank EON account, I was able to use it in my online transactions such as buying domains from godaddy.com, withdrawing my paypal funds that was linked or verified with my EON Unionbank account and many other online transactions.

What are the requirements to open an EON account?

  • Two Valid ID’s (two photocopies)
  • Bring any utility bills also if you were asked
  • Php 350.00 (Annual Payment when you get the card)
  • Php 100 or more as an initial deposit for your account

You have to fill up the application form and make sure that you will provide correct information. If you are going to use the EON Unionbank account with your Paypal account, the address that you will use in the EON should be the same with the address in your paypal account. It would take three to seven days to get your EON Unionbank card depending on the bank branch.

Php 100  as an initial deposit for your account is suggested so you can easily verify and link you EON account with your paypal because Php100 will be charge into your PayPal account but it will be refunded within 24 hours after you confirm your card.

Is it true that Facebook Closes down on March 15?

“Facebook is shutting down on March 15” . I have read so many post about this issue that Facebook closes down on March 15 this year but I really don’t mind what I’ve read because I didn’t receive any notifications in facebook about it and possibly its another internet hoax until I had a small talk with my brother the other night.

facebook will end in march
Screen shot from the weeklyworldnews.com about “Facebook will end on March 15”

From our conversation, he is thinking that it might be true so I decided to investigate through searching and browsing on the internet about that issue to enlighten us. There are really many post and news about Facebook shutting down on March 15 and I found this post “Facebook will end on March 15 which might help others understand the contents of the news/issue. In that news, Mark Zuckerberg the creator, CEO and President of Facebook announced that Facebook will be shut down in March. I also tried to read more post and news about the issue and I found that prior to the post from weeklyworldnews.com about “Facebook will end on March 15“, there are also other earlier post about Facebbok shutting down and there are other version of the news like Facebook will shut down in April, February, etc. which only shows that it is not true.

So, is it true that Facebook will be shut down in March? The answer is a big No! Kindly read this “The Facebook Blog”.

Facebook is really a powerful social networking site for everyone whether we use it for personal, business and family connections. but we should limit the usage of it especially to kids that may harm their innocent minds with what they see or read so we parents should be responsible for our child’s activities on the internet.

How to create a paypal account?

Here are the steps on how to open or create a paypal account:

  1. Create a paypal account then click on sign-up today.
  2. Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly.

  3. Choose for the paypal account type: Personal, Premiere or business account depending on what’s applicable to you. In my case, I choose Paypal Premier account because I buy and sell online. Also choose your country or region from the drop-down button. Then Click on Get Started button on the Paypal account type that you would like to create.
  4. Enter your information page will show once you click on Get Started. Fill up the form. You can skip to link your credit card because you can still link it at a later time but if you wanted to shop right away you can just simply link your credit card. In my case, I didn’t link any credit card but I just link my bank account right after creating my paypal account because I think first for the best bank account that I can link with my paypal for the ease of transaction. Also read on the user agreement first then click on Agree and Create an Account.
  5. You will be asked to verify your account by adding a credit card or debit card but you can skip this stage if you are not yet sure on what card to link and you can link your card at a later time. If you will be adding the card, a Verfication Program are necessary to be eligible to withdraw paypal funds. In my case I use my Unionbank EON card to link with my paypal account.
  6. Be sure to confirm your email address by clicking on the confirmation link sent by Paypal to the email address that you use to register in your paypal account. Once you have successfully created a paypal account, you may view the account overview page with your name, email address and account status. Your account status will be verified when you successfully link any of your card with paypal.
  7. Voila! You now have a paypal account that you can use to buy, shop and sell online.

Internet Home-based Job in the Philippines

I was bored tonight because our cable service at home is still under maintenance can’t watch TV so while I was browsing on the internet I visited jobstreet.com.ph and jobsdb.com.ph to check out what’s new. Most of the hiring  jobs are for call center  jobs and since I remember that many people are asking me about online/Internet home based jobs I try to browse and look for it. Although there are only a few online work at home jobs if you really search for it you can spot one. So do you want to know what it is all about? Continue reading

What to do when your website is hacked or redirected to a different site?

I was alarmed today when I visited my website http://www.esupermommy.com that it was hacked. I immediately goggled on how to resolve this issue but it seems that there are only a few reliable resources that I have found and I am also thinking of the lengthy process that to follow so I think other ways.

The initial solution that I did is to inform the web-hosting company that my website was hacked by “Hacked By TheEnd” and also to change my new password in cpanel. After a few minutes my website came back with the help of the assistance of the technical support of the web.com.ph and told me that they had restored the back-up of my website. After the incident, I make sure to it that I back-up all the important files especially the wp-content files through ftp the one that I am using if the coreftp. Although my website is up and running again, I hope that it will not happen again as I am now finding more ways to add more securities to my site. I will also review the back-up files especially the programs that I am praying hard that there are no viruses or any hidden programs that may attack my site.

Simple tips on buying a domain and web-hosting

I really wanted to add more informative articles on my online opportunities journey here but lately I was having a problem with my fingertips and hands because of over work. Aside from my regular work online, I am also a hands-on mom with my little toddler so whenever he needs me I have to pause from my online work and prioritize him.

Anyway since I have encountered online friends asking about domains and web-hosting, I will share a simple tips on how I manage my domain and webhosting since my first domain and web-hosting is already one-year old.

Tips on buying a domain and web-hosting:

  • Purchase domain names to a well known legitimate company like godaddy and network solutions. In my first domain name purchased, I decided to buy the domain name in a local company here in the Philippines since I also purchased also their web-hosting services. It is a Filipino owned company http://www.web.com.ph and I must say that they have a very good service with its online support, email support and they will really keep you updated. The payment procedure and options is very easy to follow.
  • Before you purchase a domain name, search for any discount coupon and promos before finalizing the purchase. In my second domain which is the jemimahonline.com, I bought the domain from godaddy.com and I search for a discount coupon before I purchase. I have a 20% discount from the actual price of the domain. you may just search for the discount coupon and try if it works because sometimes the discount coupons expires.
  • If you really wanted to pursue a long engagement with your website domain, you better purchased it in three or five years. According to the web design book that I have read, search engines especially google gives importance to domains with long years of existence but of course the contents of the website gives a big impact. Currently, I only purchased my domain in one year but I will be renewing it in two years before the expiration since I now love blogging and web design.
  • About web-hosting services before purchasing a web-hosting service, I suggest you should ask the company for a free web-hosting trial first usually a 7-day free trial so you can experience their web-hosting service and their customer support. Better communicate with their support if they are responsive.
  • For web-hosting service, I suggest you choose the standard option first for an annual web-hosting service since you are just starting out and you may easily request for an account upgrade.

So there you go I am done with my sharing for tonight, I have some blisters on my fingertips and hopefully I can find a very comfortable ergonomic mouse before my birthday comes. It is actually a gift for myself to at least pamper my fingers and hand while I am at work.
