Still looking for house and lot near Metro Manila

Are you still looking for a house and lot near Metro Manila? Nowadays, It is really hard to buy a house and lot within Metro Manila. Mostly people in NCR (National Capital Region) who wanted to buy new house and lot prefer those areas near and accessible to Metro Manila. The two province areas that were near to Metro Manila are Bulacan and Cavite. Tagaytay and Laguna can also be considered but the two that I have mentioned (Bulacan and Cavite) are the ideal area nearest.

When my husband and I were trying to canvass and look for a new house/ lot, we have learned some locations to choose from. In Bulacan areas, the 25-45 minutes travel time to Balintawak Metro Manila are Marilao Grand Villas (Loma De Gato, Marilao Bulacan, Villa Roma/ Villa Regina(Barangay Saog, Marilao Bulacan), Heritage Homes (Marilao and Meycauayan, Bulacan), Las Palmas subdivision (Caypombo, Sta. Maria Bulacan) and Villa Concepcion homes (Guyong, Sta. Maria Bulacan). In Cavite areas, I really don’t have an experience with travel time from there to Makati. I have also learned Mancaster Villages and I believe there are still many house and lot available in Cavite areas.

If you are planning to buy a new house and lot, better to canvass and decide as early as possible because the value of the land increases immediately I think  semi-annual depending on the developers.

I would like to recommend Ms. Ligaya Alpuerto, area manager of M.A.Magcalas Realty Co. that may help you look for a house and lot. You may contact her at 09232108185.

A review on Splash Island Cottage/ Cabana

It was my first time to experience swimming at Splash Island Spa and Resort last April 15, 2011 with my family. My brother reserved the ticket online through their promo at metrodeal. The price of that promo is only Php400 per head with free buffet lunch.

We arrived there at exactly 8 AM. My brother and elder sister rushed to the entrance gate and they found a long line for the verification of the reservation. My brother decided to go immediately inside the resort to rent for a cabana because it says the cottages are on a first come first serve basis. My sister fetched us at the parking area and we waited for my brother’s return at the entrance gate because he holds the tickets.

When my brother returned, he gave us the tickets and he said that he already reserved a cabana. We reached the cabana that my brother reserved but we were surprise that somebody claimed that area. My brother complaint to the management and talk to the manager. We were able to get another cabana and we told ourselves not to think that bad incident because we are there to enjoy.

Anyway, if you are planning to go to splash island in Laguna for a family outing it would be best to arrive there very early like 7 AM so you can choose a good cottage. It is Friday but there are many people.  For singles or barkada outing, you may occupy the free tent and tables then just rent a locker for only Php100. The rates of the cabana depends on the types ; small cabana- Php500, cabana with lock – Php800, cabana with aircon and lock – Php1, 000, Cabana with sala set, private bathroom & bedroom – Php 5,000. For the updated price rate, please visit their website  at http://splashisland.net or contact them.

Splash Island cottage
Cabana at Splash Island

Splash Island truly has a spacious great swimming pools and other resort facilities but they only lack management in their cabana or cottages. It can really accommodate thousands of people. Their swimming pools, shower rooms, rest rooms and cabanas are clean and well-maintained. The problem that I just observed inside was regarding their metrodeal promo with free Mongolian buffet that they had during that time. I think they are not prepared for the volume of people that bought the promo. It took us one and a half hour to take the free Mongolian buffet food. Some of us were starving already, we also bought some foods there instead of waiting the free buffet lunch.

There are many food stalls inside the Splash Island so you can choose what and where to buy. I think the price is just right.

One thing that I would like to suggest to the Splash Island management and that is the process of the reservation of cabana. It is very uncomfortable for the customer especially if they have kids or oldies to search the whole resort just to find a cabana for reservation. A great reservation process like allowing the customer to reserve the cabana ahead of day or time will result in good management. I hope that Splash Island’s Management will look unto this.

Overall, Splash Island is a great place for people really looking for something different in swimming pool resorts. Everybody will truly enjoy  whether you are a parent, grandparent, single, teens, kids or even toddlers. I will definitely go back here for a fun pleasure with my close family or friends.

A visit at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila

Yesterday I went to San Lazaro Hospital at Quiricada, Sta. Cruz Manila to visit my teenage cousin who was confined there because of dengue. We bring my teenage cousin there last Sunday night after we knew the laboratory results for her CBC with APC which drops largely below the normal range. We also decided to bring her at that hospital because of some suggestions of their good service.

San Lazaro Hospital
Hallway at San Lazaro Hospital in manila

San Lazaro Hospital is a government hospital with clinical services for Infectious/ Communicable Diseases like Meninggitis, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, Measles, Pneumonia, etc. When we arrived there last Sunday and my cousin was admitted, I have noticed that they observed order and cleanliness. Although most of the people working there are so strict from the security guard up to the doctors and some are even snobbish, the hospital is a nice place because it is clean, in good order and I think that the patient will be handled in good care.

My cousin was confined at the third floor and I tried to take some photos while I walk in their hallway. The place is not so big but there are only few patients and few people there. I used their elevator to reach the third floor. It was scary to use the elevator because the elevator sounds so creepy and I was the only one who ride. I also saw some rust at the side and I am just thinking that the elevator might need some maintenance because of the creepy sounds when it opens and closes although it is not that too old.

Inside the San Lazaro Ward Room

I finally reached the ward room of my cousin and I must say that its not bad. Her bed number is so easy to distinguish and the room has enough space. The ward room is clean. Although there is no electric fan inside the room and television sets, you may feel comfortable because it is not noisy and polluted. The room has big windows allowing natural air to pass through and you can also see some trees outside the window. According to my cousin, you can also bring your own electric fan if you want. Since it is a government hospital for public service I believe that they have a good service with its order and cleanliness. The visiting hours at San Lazaro hospital is from 4:00 PM up to 7:00Pm only and they are really strict so visitors should follow. Before I go home at around 6:00 Pm we felt the earthquake shakes that moves some of the things inside the room like the beds and chairs. My cousin who is a patient there almost wanted to rise from the bed and I can see her nervous face and also her mom. I keep the situation calm as I tell them some beautiful stories and in my mind I pray to God.

I hope and pray that my cousin will be better and recover immediately. Today, I made her Camote Tops juice for her fast recovery that could be an alternative cures for this kind of illness. I tried to research on how to help a dengue patient to treat a low platelet count and I just believe that the Camote Tops Juice that I make with orange and Calamansi will improved her health condition.
